Marble, which means “shining stone” in Greek, is formed as a result of rocks such as limestone and dolomite, which metamorphose under certain temperature and pressure, crystallize and gain a new structure. It consists of high amounts of calcium carbonate. The main color of marble is white, but due to the presence of different elements, various colors of this stone also occur in nature. Thanks to this feature, we can see green, grey, black, red, yellow and cream marbles in nature. The resistance of marble is relatively high, but since this stone is calcareous-based, its resistance cannot be compared with stones such as granite and travertine, so it is in the group of soft stones.

Among the advantages of marble stones, we can list their high resistance to heat, their unique beauty, being eye-catching and attractive in interior design, and their wide variety of designs and colors. The most important disadvantage of these natural stones is that the surface appearance deteriorates in areas where weather conditions vary greatly. Marble stone is very useful on interior surfaces, especially on stairs.
